Surjo is a singer-songwriter/guitar player from Jamshedpur. The Steel City isn't a conducive environment for a person to pursue a career writing songs and singing them to audiences, and it put Surjo in the unique position of being just one in a city of 1.3 million who was making that attempt. Against Considerable Odds, Surjo has survived for 7 years as a professional musician, and his songs reflect his stoic upbringing as well as his desire to break through the shackles that stoicism brings. His songs aren't about nature, nature though present, isn't celebrated in the steel city. His songs are about human nature, about love and loss and the struggle to live through it all.
